08 Apr Core Certified Agreement
On December 20, 2019, the government and Queensland resolved the dispute resolution in arbitration. This means that the hearing scheduled for February 2020 must no longer be continued, since an agreement can be reached. As in our first term, the government negotiates in good faith to reach agreements that provide fair and fair wages and conditions. On Tuesday, we informed members that the State Government Departments Certified Agreement 2019 has been certified by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. On 17 January 2020, an agreement in principle was reached with all parties to the trade union negotiations. If you have any questions about the contracting process, please contact your union or your agency`s appropriate IR/ER team. The State Government`s 2015 Certified Agreement (Basic Agreement) expires this year. This agreement includes terms and conditions of employment for you and other staff of your agency. It is important that the provision refer to the annual salary review, which must be set by the Fair Work Commission. That`s the first step. The annual decision-review of salaries was delayed by two weeks due to the COVID 19 crisis. We expect that decision to be made in July.
The provision of the agreement then provides that the necessary discussions with the State Government on the continuation of wages will then begin. On 3 October 2018, the Industrial Union of Employees requested assistance from the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) for the agreement on the negotiations of the contract negotiations of the public authorities (basic agreement). That is why the negotiations are now in conciliation. Oir is attending conciliation conferences on behalf of the government and will request, if necessary, the presence of representatives of the agencies. In the meantime, display a copy of the contract officials (PDF, 288KB). The Labour Relations Board will now meet with union negotiators to complete the development of the proposed replacement agreement. The government and all parties will now work on a replacement agreement. Once this process is complete, more information on the proposed agreement will be made public and all staff covered by the agreement will be put to a vote. From 9 March 2020, the proposed agreement and the corresponding explanation of the agreement will be available on www.forgov.qld.gov.au/state-government-entities-certified-agreement-2019. The government will continue to approve the agreement in principle in accordance with standard procedures.
Once this approval is confirmed, the single payment will be processed and further communications regarding the date of payment will be made. In addition, on 3 October 2018, the Industrial Union sought assistance from the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission in negotiating the basic agreement. As such, the negotiations are now in conciliation proceedings. The nominal expiration date of the basic agreement was August 31, 2018. However, negotiations on the basic agreement between the parties continue in good faith. All representatives are actively involved in negotiations to reach an agreement in principle by 30 September 2018. In accordance with the government`s wage policy, the anniversary of the salaries of September 1, 2018 will be maintained. The government has just approved the agreement in principle for the basic agreement.
